Oscars - Fashion Hits and Misses

The Best dressed of the evening went to (wait for it.. ) Miley Cyrus!! Her dress was absolutely gorgeous, and a very bold and a fashion forward choice for a teen girl!

Number 2 on my Best Dressed list is Natalie Portman. The colour was so lovely for her olive skin tone, and her hair and makeup complimented the look every so nicely.

Kate Winslet rounds out my Best Dressed list. I love the two materials and the belted one shoulder Goddess style. She looks so classic here.

Worst Dressed of the night

Beyonce wins my award for worst dressed of the night. Not only does she match the Oscar, (as she always seems to do), that leaf pattern is an eyesore. Her makeup and hair are too minimal for her.



As much as I love my girl Queen Latifah, her choice in dress could have been better. While the colour is nice and it flatters her skintone, the assymetry of the bodice is causing some problems for her 'girls'. One looks much more pronounced than the other. It almost looks as though the one strap was cut off last minute.

ABCD 3- Its Down to the top 3!!

America's Best Dance Crew 3 is down to the top 3! And the results are just as I called it in one of my earlier posts....

While I really like the style and level of breaking that Quest Crew brings, and think they are great, ABDC needs an all girl crew to take the title this season. And who better to take it than Beat Freaks. The last performance they did to a Katy Perry track and they KILLED it.. OMG.. they are so sick. They bring breaking, choreography, sexiness and flavour. They can DANCE! Fly Khicks are going to be the next to go, but those girls got energy for days. They work hard, but are not on the same level as Quest Crew and Beat Freaks. I can't wait for next week's show !!!

Me and my friends at work always joke about the whole Team Jolie/ Team Aniston thing. Eventually, conversation gets to the 'Hollywood Babies'. A debate always ensues. I am the only one at work that seems to think Shiloh is cuter than Suri! I know these are babies, and all babies are precious, but that little Suri is a weird little thing. Shiloh looks like a cherub to me.. and I'll admit that I'm in love with her adorable face. How can she not be gorgeous.. Hello.. Angelina and Brad?!?

Welcome to Dreamland

So I had the chance to check out the six or so episodes of 'Welcome to Dreamland' on Peachtree T.V out of Atlanta. A reality show that is looking for the next Queen of Dreamland. The battle comes down to the two producers and who can make the better star. The well known Jazze Pha up against the lesser known Drumma Boy. In the end the underdog Drumma Boy one with his production of the up and comer 'Leaf'. She represented a different genre of music. To me, she was a mix of India Arie, Erykah Badu meets Cyndi Lauper and Sheila E. I loved her style and her talent. Glad she won...

Here was the runner up Khia with Jazze. Typical 'Beyonce' type beauty with the pretty voice. The girl had no rhythm and smiled like a horse.

What's Old is always New again.. someday

I recently went to the Great Wolf Lodge with my husband and my son. While on a break from the water park, we hit the arcade. My son had collected tickets for prizes and what he picked out surprised me, and brought me way back to my childhood. He picked out jelly bracelets and slinky bracelets. When I was little, my friends and I would go to this cool store called 'Neat Stuff' and buy up tons of bracelets in neon colours and wear them halfway up our arms. And so.. my son bought me some orange and pink jelly and slinky bracelets at the Lodge and I wore them with pride, as he wore his in green and blue.

Look at this picture? What do you think it is a picture of? A teen sister, her little brother and their newborn baby sister?
Guess again! This is a picture of a 15 year old MOTHER, 13 year old FATHER and their new baby girl! I can barely believe what I am typing. It looks virtually impossible to me, but no.. its true!
13 yr old Alfie Patten and his 15 year old girlfriend Chantelle Steadman of Britain are the proud parents of baby girl Maisie Roxanne.

A few Of my Favourite Things

I got my Sephora Spring Catalogue in the mail today and I am in LOVE with the vibrant colours and over the top stuff they have goin' on for the upcoming season. They are calling it High Voltage and it is soooo kick ass. Here are a few of the things I am for sure putting on my 'Wish List' until my next trip to the store.

Grey's Upset

Katherine Heigl and T.R Knight are officially leaving Grey's Anatomy for good. They are both said to make their last appearance on the show on this season's finale. I don't know about you, but I am disappointed with this season of Grey's either which way you slice it. The writing is not as clever or heart wrenching, the characters are boring me (Dr.Sloan falling for Lexie? c'mon!) and I'm definitely not tuning in every week or even minding if it is accidentally deleted from my Tivo list. I think that Grey's is dying a slow, deliberate death.

I wonder how they'll leave? I guess I'll have to check out spoilerfix.com and find out what the deal is.

Our new friend Spencer

Just this past week, we were blessed with a new member to our family. His name is Spencer, and he is a rescued dog. Spencer comes from an abusive home, and another series of foster homes who just couldn't or didn't want to handle him. He came to us very frightened, very dirty and very sad. He had the runs, a bad eye infection and wouldn't eat or drink anything. I'm proud to say that after just 5 days with us, Spencer's eye infection is gone, his stools are back to normal and he is eating and playing and enjoying life. We are very happy to have him.. God Blessed us with the opportunity to save a little life, and we are very grateful!

Ok, so I didn't even know these two were a couple, and they both act on 2 of my favourite television shows!!!

Lance Gross who plays Calvin on House of Payne and Eve (formally of America's Next Top Model fame) who plays Tyra on the Young and the Restless are engaged!!! Aww I love that.. I think they make such an adorable couple. They got engaged on New Years Eve 2008. All the Best to the Gorgeous Couple!

This is the Headline of the Week?!?

Ok, so these are the pictures that have been posted on every magazine and celeb website all week. Its Jessica Simpson performing at a chili cook off. The pics are not so very flattering, and the jeans are horrendous. But in no way, is J-Simps a fatso. Sure she's put on a few since her 'Dukes of Hazard' days, but she herself admitted she was dieting and exercising like a fanatic in order to wear that bikini in the 'Boots are Made for Walking' video. (See below)

Being extremely thin is not Jessica Simpson. She is a curvy girl, and she's got great boobs and great legs. There are little girls out there reading these websites and magazine articles and think that if they are curvy or chubby, they are ugly. We, as a society, sensationalize weight gain and weight loss like its a national tragedy. I'd love to have a bod like Jess Simpson, just the way she looks right now. But I'm also happy being me, and I'm not going to look at a magazine and think we should all be carbon copies.

Da Kink in My Hair

Da Kink In my Hair has fast become my favourite Canadian T.V Program. It takes Place at Letty's Hair Salon on Eglinton Ave. West aka Little Jamaica in Toronto. Novelette, also known as Letty, is the shop owner and mother of Dre. Her Sister Joy, plays a sassy and hilarious 'rude gyal' that gets herself into some comical mix ups. Nigel, is the sexy male stylist who is known for his womanizing ways. Starr, a newcomer to the salon, was raised and grew up in the 'burbs, adopted by her white parents and steady learning the West Indian way of life.
Some cool facts about Da Kink:

• Richard Fagon who plays Nigel used to be a DJ-'Hollywood Rich' on Flow 93.5
• Ngozi Paul and Trey Anthony who play Starr and Joy are the Executive Producers of the Show.
• The show has featured some of Toronto's up and coming music stars like Jully Black and Keisha Chante.

The New Season starts up February 12th on Global. Check it out if you can!!
